There comes a time…
when the layers begin to feel heavy.
The armor that once protected
begins to crack.
When something beneath the surface
calls for your attention.
There are times in life when something begins to shift.
Patterns that once felt clear or familiar may no longer feel the same. Roles change. Identity evolves. The way you see yourself - and your life - begins to move in a new direction.
It doesn’t happen all at once. More often, it’s a gradual awareness. A sense that you are in between what has been and what is next.
This space can feel uncertain, but it is also where reflection begins.
And where transformation can emerge.
Life stages may shine a light into the places that once were dark. The illumination may create discomfort.
What once felt certain no longer fits. Roles begin to shift, and identity feels less defined than it once was.
You begin:
Reflecting on where you’ve been,
Questioning what still fits and what doesn’t,
Examining past experiences and digging deeper, and,
Wondering what comes next, even if the answer isn’t clear yet.
This is not a process that can be rushed.
It is a place to pause, to reflect, and to notice what is changing.
Mothers and Others is a story of resilience. The narrative follows a woman’s life across decades - through the experiences, relationships, and transitions including a chaotic childhood, and an escape to the military. The story includes traumas and joys that shape who she becomes.
It explores how survival patterns begin early, how they carry forward over time, and how they continue to influence the way we see ourselves and the choices we make.
Through reflection and lived experience, the book brings attention to what often goes unnoticed until we pause and take a closer look.
With that awareness comes the opportunity to understand more clearly what to hold on to - and what to let go.
The book is written with heart and courage as one woman searches for meaning and for home.
The book will be released in July 2026.
There are natural transitions in a woman’s life.
Maiden.
Mother.
Crone.
Each stage brings changes in how we think, feel, and experience the world. And yet, many of these transitions are not openly talked about or fully understood.
As a result, many women move through these phases without the space to reflect on what is happening internally.
Over time, we adapt. We take on roles, meet expectations, and develop ways of coping that help us move forward. Some of these patterns serve us well. Others may no longer fit in the same way they once did.
Taking time to reflect - especially through writing - can bring greater awareness to these patterns.
And with that awareness comes the opportunity to better understand ourselves and the changes we are experiencing.
About Lucinda
Lucinda’s work grew out of her own experience of moving through life’s transitions.
Over time, she began to notice patterns - how early experience shaped later choices, and how those patterns continued to show up across different stages of life.
Writing became a way to make sense of it.
Not to fix anything, but to better understand what had been lived, what was changing, and what might come next.
Through her book and her work with women, she creates space for reflection, for curiosity, and for exploring what it means to move through change with greater awareness.
